It does not appear that the same method works for CD keys included with The Godfather. However, as recently as March of 2021 CD keys included in retail copies of The Godfather II could be redeemed through the Origin platform to download a digital copy of the game. Furthermore, neither of the Godfather titles were released for sale on Origin. While Electronic Arts did remove most of its titles from Steam in favor of their own Origin platform, these delistings largely happened in 2012, years prior to the Godfather delistings.
The cause for the delisting appears to be related to licensing of the Godfather property from Paramount Pictures. problem solved: by changing the name of default controller (even it seems as xbox 360 controller, the name is different at registry editor) to the exact same name as 360s controller. The Godfather and The Godfather II were both delisted on Steam on November 26th, 2014.
